For this position, we are looking for a CNC machinist with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience who can set up and run CNC machines, use manual tools (grinding machines, jig borers, jig grinders, and hand tools), calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics, and apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
Candidates must demonstrate a keen ability to read and understand complex blueprints and highly technical aerospace specifications. They also must have experience with measurement and testing equipment, gauge blocks, dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, surface plates, hardness testers, rules, and straightedges. Previous experience in aerospace machining and Journeyman Toolmaker/Machinist would be a plus.
Machinists will also be expected to bring their own tools.
Job Description:
Jet Tool specializes in the manufacture of aircraft engine tooling for major aircraft engine manufacturers. We provide quality maintenance tooling for aircraft service centers worldwide, for the repair and overhaul of aircraft turbine engines.
Our machine and fabrication shops can manufacture all types of engine stands, transporters, balancing kits, gage sets, bearing pullers, installation and removal fixtures, and stretch shaft fixtures.
We are looking for a CNC Machinist who wants to challenge themselves, grow their skills, be part of an excellent team, and make things that matter. The right candidate will have opportunities to work on cool machines–both old and new–that have been well-maintained and asked to suggest areas for investment as our company grows.
We utilize HAAS CNC Milling machines, Mastercam software, and ProShop ERP. We provide an air-conditioned and clean shop environment.
Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints
Program, modify, and run CNC machines
Set up and program CNC machines using Mastercam
Change and set up tooling
Use measurement tools - calipers, gages, micrometers
Perform deburring operations on machined parts
Perform deburring operations on machined parts
Check parts for conformance to specifications
Learn to operate/program other machines and equipment
Qualifications:
Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to take many variables into account when limited standardization exists.
Keen ability to read and understand complex blueprints and highly technical aerospace specifications.
Experience with measurement and testing equipment, gauge blocks, dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, surface plates, hardness testers, rules, and straightedges.
