Education and Experience Level:
Jet Tool is a learning environment. We believe that curiosity and a desire to grow and learn are often more important than the amount of experience a candidate may have.
For this position, we are looking for someone with machining and programming experience, preferably using Mastercam. A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required and a certificate or degree in Machine Tooling is preferred. Previous experience in aerospace machining and Journeyman Toolmaker/Machinist would be a plus.
Candidates must demonstrate a keen ability to read and understand complex blueprints and highly technical aerospace specifications. They also must have experience with measurement and testing equipment, gauge blocks, dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, surface plates, hardness testers, rules, and straightedges.
Machinists will also be expected to bring their own tools.
Job Description:
Jet Tool specializes in the manufacture of aircraft engine tooling for major aircraft engine manufacturers. We provide quality maintenance tooling for aircraft service centers worldwide, for the repair and overhaul of aircraft turbine engines.
Our machine and fabrication shops can manufacture all types of engine stands, transporters, balancing kits, gage sets, bearing pullers, installation and removal fixtures, and stretch shaft fixtures.
We are looking for a CNC Lathe Programmer and Operator who wants to challenge themselves, grow their skills, be part of an excellent team, and make things that matter. The right candidate will have opportunities to work on cool machines–both old and new–that have been well-maintained and to suggest areas for investment as our company grows.
Responsibilities:
Set up, program, and operate an Okuma CNC Lathe machine, to the blueprint specifications and tolerances.
Work with our machining team to coordinate job schedules, solve problems, and ensure proper maintenance of equipment and tools.
We are a NON-PRODUCTION (Build-To-Print) machine shop, so programming will be required.
Check parts for conformance to specifications.
Opportunities to learn to operate/program other machines and equipment.
Qualifications:
Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to take many variables into account when limited standardization exists.
Keen ability to read and understand complex blueprints and highly technical aerospace specifications.
Experience with measurement and testing equipment, gauge blocks, dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, surface plates, hardness testers, rules, and straightedges.
