Education and Experience Level:

Jet Tool is a learning environment. We believe that curiosity and a desire to grow and learn are often more important than the amount of experience a candidate may have.

For this position, we are looking for someone with a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) OR a certificate/degree in machine tooling or Quality-related field. Previous experience in aerospace QC/QA roles is preferred.

Ideal candidates will have experience with measurement and testing equipment, gauge blocks, dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, surface plates, hardness testers, rules, and straightedges.

The CMM Quality Inspector will be responsible for inspecting works-in-progress as well as finished parts and assemblies. they will utilize a height gauge, Keyence CMM, Keyence Optical Comparator, and other instrumentation to measure precision machined parts and assemblies.

This person will also be responsible for keeping our inspection room tidy and maintaining the equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality inspection of work-in-progress (WIP) and finished products in accordance with established procedures.

  • Inspect incoming raw materials for compliance and traceability as needed.

  • Document all instances of rejected product or raw material non-compliance and quarantine non-conforming items.

  • Collect and document appropriate information for quality inspection reports.

  • Prepare inspection reports and ensure all data is complete and accurate.

  • Create and maintain current files for all quality-related correspondence.

  • Resolve customer complaints or problems in regard to rejected or non-conforming products.

  • Report any unusual discrepancies, trends, or problems to management.

  • Suggest new testing or inspection methods to minimize inspection efforts required and seek to continuously improve processes.

  • Review drawings for completeness, noting all critical dimensions and functions.

  • Assist in resolving any confusion about measurements, call-outs, or drawing misinterpretations with coworkers and customers.

  • Train co-workers in company quality control concepts and procedures.

  • Perform necessary maintenance, calibration, and certification of equipment as needed.

  • Remain current on quality control practices and trends through publications, seminars, conferences, and related trade shows.

  • Understand and is trained to be compliant in the AS-9100 aerospace quality system requirements and the ISO-9001 quality system standard.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.

  • Knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, common internet browsers, and CAD/CAM software.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry.

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
